Fire Alarm Panels
A fire alarm control panel (FACP) is essentially the nerve centre of a fire alarm detection system. The panel is responsible for detecting a fire which it then reports before taking action against any event of fire within a building.
The conventional fire alarm panel involves linking up various fire detection devices, such as smoke and heat detectors. When one of the devices is activated, the linked circuit alerts the central alarm panel which can then lead to an evacuation of the whole building before the fire spreads. Each detection device is numbered allowing the location of the fire to be reported. The fire alarm panel is now required in new structures as part of the building code in most countries.
